My inspiration begins after observing Violeta Parra’s plastic work, such as embroidered burlap and oil paintings. A reading of the graphic language and interpretation of the composition of her work.

I wanted to represent in each piece of jewelry an aspect of her life. My intention in this work is to delve into the vision of the «other» the friend, the lover, the visitor, the observer, the public, a peculiar visual that shows the gaze of the observer.

I also wanted to express an image of naivety and innocence (through the colors and shapes), of the one who receives the gaze when a path begins and decides to be observed.

Each independent piece has its own story, when I try to represent an aspect of his life I actually represent me and so anyone who wears the jewelry can give their own interpretation and personal meaning. That is the meaning…

I have used reused materials such as copper, alabaster and leather, as well as silver and vitreous enamels. I play with enameled textures, superimposed fretwork and the transfer of light in materials such as alabaster.

The materiality incites to touch and thus provoke the relationship with the observer.

LAS CARAS DE VIOLETA

Mi inspiración comienza después de observar la obra plástica de Violeta Parra, como arpilleras bordadas y óleos. Una lectura al lenguaje gráfico e interpretación de la composición de su obra.

He querido representar en cada pieza de joyería  un aspecto de su vida. Mi intención en este trabajo es ahondar en la visión del “otro” el amigo, amiga, el amante, el visitante, el observador, el público, una visual peculiar que muestra la mirada del que observa.

Además he querido expresar una imagen de ingenuidad e inocencia (a través de los colores y las formas), de quién recibe la mirada cuando se comienza un camino y decide ser observado.

Cada pieza independiente tiene su propio relato, cuando intento representar un aspecto de su vida en realidad me represento a mí y así cualquiera que porte las joyas puede dar su propia interpretación y significado personal. Ese es el sentido…

He utilizado materiales reutilizados como cobre, alabastro y cuero, además de plata y esmaltes vítreos. Juego con texturas esmaltadas, calados superpuestos y el traspaso de la luz en material como el alabastro.

La materialidad incita a tocar y de esta manera provocar la relación con el observador.
